Description
I feel very lucky to work with women on such a special day. I try to bring calm along with artistry and help the bride to look her personal best. In the months before the wedding we discuss the total look and imagery, keeping in mind the bride's personal style, wedding attire, and venue. The bride might know exactly what she wants. If not, we work together to create a look that is distinctly hers. I help devise a skin care strategy to make her complexion glow before the first bit of makeup ever touches her skin. I travel to your location bringing all the necessary makeup and hair supplies. I also have skilled assistants who work with me on large parties.

Years ago, I had my first makeup trial with Ilise when I was researching an article on different, local beauty boutiques. Out of the half-dozen or so makeovers I received, Ilise's made me feel the most beautiful while also feeling the most natural. She truly achieved the ideal of enhancing my look while still making me feel 100% like myself. Years later, when it was time to plan my wedding, Ilise was the first and only person I thought of to do my wedding hair and makeup- I'd saved her contact information for all that time. Immediately she understood the fun, less formal vibe I was going for and created a look that was better than any inspiration photo I gave her. It still felt totally natural, and totally like myself. She also created a more glamorous look for my maid-of-honor, who was looking for something more dramatic.

Thanks Ilise! It must be difficult working with people who aren't used to being primped as you so expertly do. I think despite me smudging my lipstick and letting my dress drag on the ground, the photos turned out really beautiful. You did such a fantastic job on all of us. Couldn't believe how you whipped my hair into an amazing sculpture in no time and really captured a glamorous yet natural feel. My mom's make-up and hair were both perfect (not something she could have done by herself, for sure), and it was amazing how you swept Jen's hair up into a style that worked perfectly for her. Lest I forgot, Andrew's mom & sister's hair were both stunning, especially considering they both felt completely comfortable in the glamorous yet not over-done hairstyles you did for them. I think you were really successful at quickly getting a feel for each of our personalities and creating a hairstyle to match. Most importantly, you kept us all sane because you being there allowed us to not stress over all these details! Thanks so much for your patience and hard work in making us all look gorgeous!

"How you manage to find the 'hidden me' when you do my make-up mystifies me. Not only do I look in the mirror when you're done and see some facet of myself that I'd never seen, but you manage to find a pretty lady hiding under the usual wrinkles and bags.
